July 8, 2002 Love the site! I live in Houston, and 14 years ago, Angela gave my 5th grade class a nature tour on the bay side of the park, well, I've been hooked ever since. I just returned home from there in fact, but this coming weekend I think I'll have to come down again for all the beatiful summer sites or just to sit and read with the waves in my ear. The dunes look wonderful, and the beach plants are gorgeous. Keep up the good work folks and nice to discover y'all are out there!
I WAS THINKING OF MAKING SOME OF THOSE PIPE AND PLXIGLASS, VIEWING TANKS. I HAVE SEVERAL FEET OF PIPE.LOWES HARDWARE SELLS 1/8 INCH PLEXY. DO YOU THINK THAT IS THICK ENOUGH. THEN I WAS GOING TO GLUE AND SEAL IT WITH A BEAD OF SILICON CAUK.
I noticed some sea life unfamiliar to me on the beach south of the park. Can you tell me anything about the small brown striped jellyfish and blue sea grey-blue anemone(?) with a center disk the size of a penny?
When is the next "Legacy Weekend". I've never been to Galveston Island State Park and would like to take opportunity of that weekend to see it all.
To Fran Ryan: Your letter of 26 June was forwared to me re my annual dues. I gave Winkie Mohn a check for $1000 in May. Half was for my sustaining membership. The other half ws for the Hank Rosenthal memorial. Thank you. Heather Flynn
I can't find any information on your Nature Center and am interested in volunteering a few hours a day.
On the "Monthly Activities" link it shows the month of June 2005, so it needs to be up to date. The web site is very, very nice though! :) I'm thinking of moving to Pirates Beach so I'm surfing around the 'net looking for more info. :) Thanks!

update your website.
My wife and I came down for the weekend to do the paddling trails in our kayaks. There is very little information available for this activity. I feel that it should be played up more. I would also recommend asking to park sup to have a link to your website added to the official park website. When I searched for the park, your website didn't come up or I didn't notice it. A link could increase your traffic. We found it after returning home because of the T-Shirt and wonderful beach walk with Carol (5Aug06). Thanks for what you're doing! Coach Hale

I am so disappointed with the restrooms for areas 101 to 150. Cestpools is being nice. W arrived yesterday and rented space 125. I so wanted ashower after a long day on the road. The restrooms were littered with toilet tissue and the shower stalls were full of what looked like shredded sea weed. At 0800 I went to see if any one had bothered to clean the restrroms. Nope. o, I called up to the main desk and thr lady I talked to said she would see that it was cleaned. At 1330 still no such luck. Later I saw a Park worker driving on the beach. I stopped and asked her who I should talk to. She stated she had just hosed out the restroom. She did. The women's. But my husband stated no such luck for the men's. The Website states resrooms are furnished. But that the area was littered and disgusting beyond use wasn't included in the Website. Getting what you pay for doesn't mean much here at Galveston Island State Park. We have stayed at other Texas State Parks and hope to in the future. Just not this one. And one I won't recommend. Shame on those responsible for seeing to it that the restrooms for this area campers are cleaned.
